Post COVID-19 – Finding the ‘New Normal’

As restrictions begin to lift and we start to make a slow dissent towards life post the initial COVID-19 wave, we have been thinking of ways we can support our brand partners in keeping their staff safe in the workplace.

I have been working from home for the past five months and it has certainly been an adjustment. My new colleague is not that forthcoming with tea rounds (my dog, Mac) and the neighbours new found passion for metal grinders isn’t offering the best ambience for Teams calls, however we plough on and will continue to do our best to embrace this ‘new normal’

One thing I have taken comfort in is the sense of being ‘In it together’ – from the daily team coffee catch-ups to the messages of support and encouragement across the industry via LinkedIn. The work that many of my colleagues and fellow businesses have done to provide PPE to front line workers inspirational.

The future is uncertain, what we do know is that we are facing a stretch of time where we need to be able to maintain a safe distance at work and that isn’t always an easy task, take a busy co-packing environment for instance.

We want to help remove the barriers that stand between you and your customers and as such we have been working on something in the background that we hope will help to carry you and your business through these unusual times.

Smurfit Kappa’s Safe Portfolio comprises wall dividers, desk and workstation separators, hygiene stations, point-of-sale screens and safety signage made from corrugated, which research suggests provides a lower risk of virus transmission than plastic/metal surfaces.

Ideal for manufacturing sites, schools and the eventual return to office working environments, the range offers everything you need to provide clear and concise reminders and more importantly will keep your teams safe. Bespoke branding means you can add a personal touch to the graphics, a company logo perhaps or even a massage of thanks to your workers for their support during these challenging times.

As these are paper-based solutions, they can easily be recycled after pandemic, making them hassle free and sustainable.

Our SAFEspace stands in particular are proving to be very effective, allowing manufacturing lines to get back to the high levels of productivity pre COVID.
